Park the Dog (formerly known as Merrimack Bend) is based in the greater Boston / metrowest / Merrimack Valley areas. Dan Sancomb and Les Canney joined forces in early 2010 by way of a Craiglist ad placed by Les looking for someone interested in acoustic jamming. They rehearsed at least once a week, working up tunes by bands like The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton. In early 2012, they decided to broaden their sound by adding a drummer. Lara Hoke joined in mid-2017 on bass to lay down a funky groove. Joe Peluso came in on drums in mid-2018 bringing lots of great energy, making the new line-up complete. The band has a deep, shared respect for the music they play. They have amassed a deep repertoire and have added a bunch of really original originals over their years of playing together. They are now concentrating on gigging around Massachusetts.
